CATRes was founded with the support of NASA’s University Leadership Initiative (ULI).
ULI empowers the US university community to engage in large-scale research projects with the support of NASA funding. To be selected for funding, projects must possess the following strategic goals:
1. Make a Difference
Achieving aviation outcomes defined in NASA’s Aeronautics Research Mission Directorate (ARMD) Strategic Implementation Plan through NASA-complementary research
2. Transitioning Research
Research results to an appropriate range of stakeholders that lead to a continuation of the research
3. Our Future Workforce
Broad opportunities for students at different levels, including graduate and undergraduate, to participate in aeronautics research
4. Expanding Opportunities in Aeronautics
Broadening participation in aeronautics by fostering collaboration across educational stakeholders, ensuring a wider talent pool drives innovation and U.S. leadership in aviation.
Through ULI, recipients will accelerate progress toward the achievement of high-impact outcomes in aeronautics while leveraging their capability to bring together the best and brightest minds across many disciplines.
